INFERNO: Queer Nightlife, Art and Community in London
A queer- and trans-led cultural platform creating spaces of care, creativity and collective expression through nightlife, performance and community.
WHO WE ARE
INFERNO is a London-based queer nightlife and cultural platform that has been running for over 11 years. Founded in London by artist and cultural producer Lewis G. Burton, as a response to the lack of safer, intentional spaces for queer and trans people within nightlife, INFERNO exists to centre care, community and creativity on the dance floor and beyond.
We create inclusive club nights, performance art commissions and cultural events that foreground trans+, non-binary, intersex and working-class LGBTQ+ voices. Our parties bring together music, performance, visual art and collective ritual, honouring the long legacy of queer nightlife as a site of resistance, joy and belonging.
At its core, INFERNO is about looking after one another. From low-income ticketing and visible welfare teams to intentional programming and community accountability, we work to ensure our spaces feel welcoming, accessible and grounded in care.
Over the past decade, INFERNO has grown into one of London’s longest-running queer nightlife institutions, while remaining independent, community-led and values-driven. Alongside our parties, we collaborate with artists, musicians and cultural practitioners to commission new work and create space for experimentation and expression.
As we move into a new chapter, INFERNO continues to evolve – expanding how we gather, how we support one another, and how queer and trans culture can thrive in increasingly challenging times.
WHO INFERNO IS FOR
INFERNO is primarily for queer, trans, non-binary, intersex and gender-nonconforming people, and for anyone who shows up with care, curiosity and respect.
Our spaces are created for people who want to dance, connect and express themselves freely, without judgement, pressure or expectation. You don’t need to look a certain way, know anyone, or understand club culture to belong here.
We welcome people across generations, identities and experiences, especially those who have felt marginalised, excluded or unsafe in nightlife spaces before.
INFERNO is not a space for harassment, bullying, racism, transphobia, misogyny, ableism or any form of discrimination. We ask everyone who attends to take responsibility for how they move through our spaces and how their actions affect others.
At its heart, INFERNO is about collective care - looking out for one another, honouring queer and trans lineage, and creating moments of connection, joy and release together.
You don’t need to know anyone, understand club culture, or have been before. If you arrive with care and openness, you belong here.
